ME LAX

ME LAX

The ME LAX view (120-140°) is obtained by positioning the probe in the mid-esophagus. The multiplane angle is rotated to approximately 140 degrees. Structures seen include the LA, LV, MV (P2-A2), LVOT and AV. Diagnostic information obtained from this view includes regional LV function (inferolateral and anterior septal walls) and MV and AV function. The membranous interventricular septum as well as the RV wall that subtends the RV outflow tract (RVOT) can also be imaged.
